Update: Zine, Prints, Portraits, and On-going Series

I just wanted to give a quick update and overview of what I am shooting and projects that I am working on for the short-term and long-term periods.

Zine

I am working on a Zine that I have been wanting to do for a while. These photos encompass night photos of New York City (not sure if I will limit it to a smaller area of the city). I hope to be done with this project by January/February. While I don’t like setting hard deadlines for myself, I think it’s necessary for this project. It gives me a little sense of urgency.

I plan on using my Mamiya 7II for this project and shooting CineStill 800T. I love the look of it and it just give a very different vibe from what I normally shoot with.

Prints

With more traffic coming through my site, I feel more motivated to have some prints up for sale.  I have been slacking majorly on getting to the darkroom to make prints. I plan on having a few prints for sale by November when wedding season slows down.

If there are any photos (from my blog and/or instagram account) you would like as a print, please let me know. I’ll be happy to hit the darkroom and make a print for you.

Portraits

I love shooting portraits. While I have been focusing on my landscape/fine art stuff for the past few years, I want to start shooting portraits on film. I am not sure if this will lead to anything but I enjoy making them. There is definitely a different feeling of satisfaction from shooting a portrait than compared to a landscape photo.

Watch out for this space for more on that and if you would like a portrait of yourself or know anyone that might be interested, I am always looking for more subjects to shoot.

My On-Going series

I’m still shooting this and not exactly sure when I will be done with it. Finishing this project is my main goal and I would love to be able to exhibit it when I’m done. I’m not too worried about the printing aspect of it, I just need to shoot more. I think I have narrowed my theme/subject, it’s a scenes of nature with touches or hints of humanity/people.

I always thought I would focus on traditional landscape photography but since I live in New York City, it’s hard to escape people’s impact on my surroundings. So I might as well include it. It might be a little subtle in some photos or it might be more in your face.

Thanks for reading whoever you guys are, please leave a message if you have any thoughts about my work or just want to say hey. Also, I keep my instagram account pretty current if you are not following that yet, please check it out and follow. Thanks again and I will keep you posted :)
